In truth, Claudius rarely reads with people, but he grew up trying to hide it in case someone found what he read heretical. He and Laurel did read together, sometimes, because of their shared space. Now Claudius understands how it can be too quiet to read, when you're used to another presence, another voice in the room with you. "Then hopefully you'll be all right if I occasionally look up and pester you with questions," Claudius says. "And you can tell me your own thoughts.
